The butterfly toy ball and other similar toys are made out of a thin plastic that can be easily chewed up by a cat.

The toy itself is housed in a cardboard case, so it provides more entertainment than harm; however, you’ll want to monitor your cat to make sure he doesn’t chew off pieces too large for him to swallow.

These inexpensive and easy-to-clean toys can provide hours of fun for your cat when used properly. Just remember to replace them if they become worn or ripped, as they won’t be safe anymore.

A bonus tip: Make sure you don’t get one with a bell inside! Many cats have sensitive hearing and will shy away from such noisy toys.

Laser pointer games

You’ve probably heard that cats love laser pointers, and while they do make a great toy, they’re not exactly fun for you.

However, other toys will keep your cat happy—and give you some fun in return. Consider purchasing toys that require your pet to move around, dig into things or learn how to play with toys more effectively.

One example is a scratchboard made out of corrugated cardboard; it will keep your kitty busy scratching at it for hours—and give you peace from those claws on the furniture.

Or get them a mouse toy filled with catnip and watch them roll around in delight! There are plenty of options out there so look around and find something that works best for both you and your feline friend.

Catnip spray

Sprays made with catnip can be brushed onto certain toys or some areas in your home. Most cats go nuts for them, but you may want to consider an all-natural alternative for your kitty.

These sprays are fairly easy to make and are much cheaper than purchasing new toys from a pet store.

To make your catnip spray, put 1/4 cup dried catnip (available at most pet stores) in a cheesecloth bag or stocking and soak it in hot water until it’s completely moistened.

Let cool before hanging up somewhere your feline friend will have access to it when he’s ready to play! Another option is to purchase freeze-dried catnip that you can sprinkle on any old toy.

It works just as well as fresh catnip without having to worry about it going bad after opening. If you’re worried about other pets getting into your homemade spray, use a few drops of essential oil instead.

If possible, avoid citrus oils like lemon and orange because they aren’t safe for cats. Instead, opt for something like lavender oil or peppermint oil which should keep other animals away from it while still attracting your furry friend.

Crafty DIY options

Give your cat something to play with by making one yourself. Several DIY options won’t cost you a dime and just require a bit of creativity and elbow grease.

Consider gluing empty toilet paper rolls into a circular shape, or wrapping old socks around pieces of string.

If you have some cardboard lying around, consider cutting out small holes and sticking them together to make an indoor maze toy.

Fill with catnip for a treat that is sure to keep them interested! The possibilities are endless, but if you can think it up – you can probably make it happen!

Exercise wheel options

This one may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s important to think about your particular cat’s needs. For example, larger cats can handle exercise wheels that are designed for dogs while smaller felines need smaller wheels to ensure they don’t get injured.

Likewise, older or less active kitties might prefer an aging cushion that simulates a tree branch. And kittens will most certainly require different toys than mature adult cats.

Be sure to choose age-appropriate toys so your cat isn’t overwhelmed with too much stimulation—it can be enough to drive a kitty up a wall!

Electronic mouse options

The ideal cat toy is simple, quiet, and efficient. If you’re looking for something that won’t wind up being a nuisance, try an electronic mouse.

They run on batteries and will last for months; all you have to do is set it in front of your kitty so she can go nuts swatting at it when she feels like playing.

The only drawback is that these toys can be pricey – expect to spend $20 or more – but if you don’t want a bunch of catnip-stuffed mice lying around your house, they may be worth it.

Treat dispensers

These toys are perfect for cat owners looking to feed their pets while they’re away. They provide a healthy snack and keep your kitty occupied and out of trouble.

Some dispensers come with treats, some with catnip, and others can be filled with your pet’s favorite food. Regardless, treat dispensers are fun ways to make sure your pet is busy while you’re away.

Stuffed animals

Filled with catnip or other pheromones, stuffed animals are one of your cat’s favorite toys. Whether you fill them with catnip yourself or pick up a commercial brand, these toys appeal to your kitty’s desire to hunt and play.

One popular option is a ball within a ball – it gives your kitty plenty to work on as she tries to get at that sweet catnip treat inside.

Subscription boxes for kitty toys

Subscription boxes are a great way to ensure your cat has lots of new toys to play with. These boxes usually contain a variety of different toys and treat for your kitty to enjoy, often themed by month.

Plus, it’s fun for you and your pet! Sign up for these subscriptions to introduce fresh toys and treats into your cat’s life.

Kong products

Kong makes a variety of products for dogs, including dog toys and chews treats. Kong toys are uniquely designed to help your pet work for his food or treats and keep him occupied, especially when it’s mealtime.

Most Kong dog toys are made from a rubber material that is durable yet flexible and easy on your pup’s teeth and gums, so he doesn’t accidentally swallow chunks as he works.

Plus, most Kong dog toys come in multiple sizes, letting you get one that fits your pooch perfectly.

A variety of different fillings are available with most Kong products to match your dog’s needs; some options include kibble, cat food, peanut butter, or even applesauce!
